ABOUT TAYUA

A founder-led studio.
A shared product thesis.

TAYUA creates and validates digital products for moments when people face information, choices or complexity without a clear way forward.

HOW TAYUA WAS BORN

It started with a pattern that kept appearing.

Different projects kept pointing to the same problem: people were often surrounded by information, choices and tools, but still missing the clarity needed to move.

In money, learning, reflection, work and everyday decisions, the opportunity was rarely to add more. It was to make what already mattered easier to see, understand and act on.

TAYUA grew from that repeated question: what could we build if clarity itself became part of the product?

THE NAME

The dark is not the opposite of direction.

In Nawat, an Indigenous language of El Salvador, tayua means “night.” We were drawn to the word because night holds a particular kind of possibility: the noise settles, shapes become simpler, and even a small light can change what you are able to see.

For TAYUA, the metaphor is not about having every answer before moving. It is about finding enough light for the next honest step — and trusting that the path becomes clearer as you continue.

Not daylight all at once.Just enough light to move forward.

Name origin: Nawat/Pipil language references from El Salvador.

THE SHARED THREAD

The studio is built around a repeatable kind of problem.

TAYUA looks for situations where cognitive load is high, a meaningful next step matters and a product can make the person more capable rather than more dependent.

That is why the ventures can live in different categories without becoming random. The domain changes. The underlying product thesis does not.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Tainá Townsend

A data analyst, researcher and product builder combining analytical rigor with practical product design.

Tainá holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and has worked across analytics, operations, learning, research and product experimentation. Much of that work has involved the same practical challenge: taking a complex system, finding the signal that matters and making the next decision easier to act on.

TAYUA turns that pattern into a studio model: originate ideas, test the real problem, build focused experiences and invest further only when the evidence earns it.

WHY THIS FOUNDER

The studio sits at the intersection of four kinds of practice.

TAYUA is not based on one category expertise. Its advantage is the combination: research discipline, operational context, data fluency and repeated product building.

Research training

Ph.D. in Business Administration

Formal research training supports the way TAYUA frames problems, tests assumptions and separates evidence from intuition.

Operational depth

Analytics inside complex systems

Hands-on work across analytics, operations and production control keeps the studio close to environments where decisions have real constraints and consequences.

Product practice

From analysis to usable experiences

TAYUA grows out of repeated practice turning messy information into tools, simulations, workflows and products that help someone act.

Cross-disciplinary lens

Data, learning and human behavior

The studio deliberately combines analytical rigor with product design, learning science and lived human friction rather than treating them as separate disciplines.

WHAT WE PROTECT

People before features.

Start with the lived problem and the person inside it.

Clarity before complexity.

Make the important thing easier to see, understand and use.

Evidence before certainty.

Test assumptions, learn quickly and change direction when the evidence asks for it.

Agency before dependence.

Build tools that help people make their own informed next move.

START WITH THE WORK

See what TAYUA is building — and how it thinks.

TAYUA is currently focused on building its own ventures rather than operating as a client-services agency. The clearest way to understand the studio today is to explore the portfolio and the product decisions behind it.

Public collaboration channels will be added deliberately as the portfolio grows.
